Your Board of Directors has been working hard since the fire on the evening of March 22, 2011. We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes as we work with the land lord of the building at 1900 E Madison as well as organized this year's Bat N Rouge. If you are a member of CHAC, you have voting rights for Club business at each year’s General Membership Meeting.

What is it?

The bylaws of CHAC state: The general membership is responsible for providing direction to the Board of Directors in all aspects of management, operation and direction of C.H.A.C. This means that we need you and your input as we move forward from the fire and towards reopening the Club.

When/Where is it?

CHAC’s 2011 General Membership meeting will occur at 6pm Wednesday, 7/20/2011 at Seattle University’s Teilhard de Chardin Hall (CHDN). You can also download a printable PDF map.

What will we talk about?

The General Membership meeting serves as a way for the membership to participate in the business of the Club and also as a regular old Board meeting. Please see the proposed motion below for one item that will be discussed.

Who gets to vote?

All current members of CHAC are able to vote on matters pertaining to Club business at the General Membership meeting. If you are not sure if you are a current member, please contact us and we will look up your information.

Proposed Addendum to the Capitol Hill Alano Club Bylaws

It has been proposed that we delete all qualifying location language related to the verb "posted" when referencing the posting of materials.

This proposal arose out of out increasing online presence since the fire as well as a debate within the Board of Directors as to how much information we should post online.

On behalf of the CHAC Board of Directors, we hope to see you on 7/20!

Yours in service,
